Launched with around 30 founder members in 2006, YHM (as it is affectionately known) was created by a group of holiday home owners who wanted to only include properties that are owned and managed with the holiday-maker in mind on all counts.
Most of the founders regularly contribute on LayMyHat.com - a forum for holiday home owners worldwide.
There is a simple three step process to completing an application. Firstly, register and and create a login to the secure Partner's area. Registration is free and there is no obligation to complete the application at this stage. Secondly, complete an application form. You do not have to complete the application form in one sitting. Enter as much information as you can, and revisit the form to add more details at your leisure. You can decide when to submit the application.
Prior to completing the form, please ensure you fulfil the minimum conditions for acceptance of: 1. having your own website 2. can supply three references and, 3. above all, that you care about your guests.
Thirdly, on submission of your application form a payment of £20 is due. This can be made by credit card or Paypal at their independent secure payment site.
Once accepted and subject to an annual fee of £35.00 you will be able to display the YHM Seal of Approval and be included in the elite list of properties on the YHM website.
The site should be a huge 'Wow' for a holiday-maker as every property included on YHM has been reviewed, referenced and the owners questioned about their professionalism and caring attitude to holiday-makers. Definately some peace of mind and higher trust levels with the YHM selection of properties.
It has a handful of properties in comparison to a lot of other listing websites and with each one linking directly through to the owners website all the information is to hand to make a decision.
